First Ascent, Marsico Capital Management, OppenheimerFunds, and SpiderRock Join Prominent Asset Managers Hosting Strategies on Oranj
Oranj continues to diversify its selection of investment solutions from best-in-class asset managers which independent financial advisers can cost-effectively and seamlessly utilize for their clients. Four additional asset managers — First Ascent Asset Management, Marsico Capital Management, OppenheimerFunds, and SpiderRock Advisors—now host model portfolios and funds on the Oranj.
Oranj is the first free, end-to-end wealth management software providing advisers with access to a powerful solution that can help reduce some product and technology fees—helping advisers adopt new technology without raising their cost of doing business, and in some cases, making investing less expensive for investors.
“Providing advisers with a wide range of tools and capabilities to help them successfully generate positive investment outcomes for their clients is a core commitment for us,” said Matt Straut, Head of RIA Distribution for OppenheimerFunds. “This partnership with Oranj is an exciting opportunity that better positions us in support of that goal.”
As Oranj initially announced in October 2017, Oranj combines client-facing engagement and account aggregation tools with institutional-grade trading and rebalancing software from TradeWarrior Software, in which Oranj acquired majority ownership in April 2017. In addition, Oranj can remove multiple layers of fees—which advisers are often forced to pass on to investors—by offering direct access to model portfolios and funds from investment managers, along with powerful portfolio management tools to incorporate these strategies into investor portfolios, on a single platform.
“Advisers are demanding access to transparent strategies that address risk mitigation and income enhancement,” said Eric Metz, President and Chief Investment Officer of SpiderRock Advisors. “Our partnership with Oranj helps SpiderRock deliver options strategies to advisers and their clients at every level.”
Oranj also continues to invest in the technology at the heart of Oranj, including the TradeWarrior trading and rebalancing functionalities and other portfolio management features available to advisers. The firm will be hiring 10 additional software developers in 2018 to continue to deliver innovative features and increase the frequency of its regular updates to the Oranj and TradeWarrior platforms.
“We created Oranj to lower costs for advisers and the investors they serve, while also giving them direct access to some of the best investment strategies and managers in the market,” said David Lyon, CEO and Founder of Oranj. “Our goal is to eliminate unnecessary overlay fees which create a drag on performance for investors while at the same time lowering the cost of doing business for advisers.”
Other asset managers hosting model portfolios and funds on Oranj include BlackRock, Direxion, ETF Securities, and Frost Investment Advisors.
